Samuel Johnson, the English writer, is credited as saying: "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." That statement is very relevant to our reporting of this story. For the same reason registered sex offenders are not permitted to work at daycares, those who have been caught and exposed using tangible evidence after willfully and knowingly defrauding potentially vulnerable seniors should be banned from providing services to them.

When discussing loan sharks, fraud, concealment, and illegal abuses of trust, that ruling should apply to all.

David Flude, the Principal Broker at Verico the Mortgage Station, chose not to protect his senior client, but instead to cover for his broker Renee Dadswell who has admitted to committing the indictable act of usury, or loan sharking, against senior and veteran clientele. When faced with the evidence and the facts, David Flude apparently went so far as to 'motivate' detectives of the South Simcoe Police Service to omit key evidence and to falsify figures so they could cut the provincially licensed broker a 'get out of jail free' card to avoid a prison sentence of up to five years of incarceration.

Our crew at Five Points Media, who are openly reporting on this story in our own name, are the antithesis to that overwhelming need for greed.

These photos are of family and friends lost to addiction and overdose.

Many official groups with long histories of support were present.

The memories ran deep for those who had lost loved ones.

A community meal where supporters broke bread with the homeless.

Speeches of support were made by those who had lost those they love.

Then an overnight camp at City Hall in support of the homeless community.

People working together toward a common cause of helping those in need.

In all, about twenty tents were erected by groups and individuals.

Sometimes the process was more interesting than others.

Some organizations were created as a result of losing loved ones.

By midnight, about twenty tents faced City Hall, shouting in silence.

Dawn brought with it a desire to stretch and enjoy coffee together.

During an overnight action that spanned from Saturday, August 31 through to Sunday, September 01, 2024, our Producer was at City Hall in the City of Barrie, donating services to not just one, but two charitable events, while working with about a dozen local benevolent community groups. During the night, as the bars emptied out around the symbolic encampment, a man approached the makeshift campsite desperate for help. He was not homeless, he was not destitute, but he was in significant emotional peril. All he wanted was somebody to talk with, and he found first our Producer, who then called over the ordained minister who had organized the event. The man openly talked about his desire to commit suicide, as he felt he had lost everything and everybody of importance to him. During a conversation that lasted close to an hour, he spilled out his pain and suffering, as he said he felt comfortable speaking with the two community motivated altruists. In time, he stopped talking about self-harm and agreed to meet again, after that night, when his thought processes were less influenced by alcohol and other substances. He was also provided with essential information about services that exist, both official and volunteer, that will help him. Our Producer also gave his new friend his business card, and offered to speak with him day or night, should he ever need a shoulder, or if he considers hurting himself due to his feelings of isolation. It is amazing what can be accomplished over a cup of coffee when the desire is to help another human being in need.

David Flude defamed our Producer when lying to a prospective client, by calling the altruist a 'serial agitator' so he could evade his own criminal and ethical breaches of trust by trying to justify the crimes committed by his brokers.

The Principal Broker at Verico the Mortgage Station lied ravenously to that potential new client who sought a mortgage of $800,000.00, but she ended up taking her business and a commission of about $8,000.00 to another broker after calling out the repetitive liar and supporting the truth of our reports and videos. "Mr. Flude. You truly must think people are stupid, and your explanation is insulting. After receiving your response I read everything Ironside posted about you and I watched all of his company's videos. His work is clean well produced and professional, unlike your accusations that appear vacuous unsupported and offensive to the intelligence of other people. If he was what you claim he would not be putting his name on his work, and you would have sued him a long time ago as he openly taunts you to do more times than I could count. I even went back to watch some of his other videos. The man has credentials from work all over the world and he was selected for an award for altruism in Barrie. nonetheless, you paint him as simply an agitator. You insult me sir as you do anybody to whom you tell that lie. You also fail to mention that those people he - agitated - all lost to his eviednce and several were convicted or fined as criminals. That means he was right, and it is why you will not fight him in court.. Have you watched any of the videos he has produced for the hundreds of charities that are not about your company? I doubt it, but I did. Not all 300 plus of them, but enough. He has worked with everybody from multiple mayors to the chiefs of police. That is one well-connected agitator. I once worked in the courts many years ago and clearly, your agitator is somebody who stands up as we all wish we could. I read through your cover story like you are stamped on tracing paper. As you can see I have copied this email in full to your agitator and i am granting Mr. Ironside my consent to use it as he wishes. I think he is doing a damned good job exposing you and your agents and I would even be happy to chat with him on camera. I am ever so glad I found his reporting about your business. I will also be asking if he can recommend an honest broker. Do not insult me again by trying to whitewash your actions. I will advise my friend of what I have learned and I doubt they will be coming to you for any renewals. i admit I have been angered by your deceptive response as i do not like being lied to. Not only did Elizabeth clearly side with our fully supported reporting over the story being told by the 'ethical financial professionals' she wanted to ensure we shared her passionate support for our right to report the truth.

Despite more than two years of exposure, which David Flude acknowledged nine months ago was hurting his business, no identifiable person or organization we have alleged has broken the law or violated ethical trust has defended their actions or contested our allegations, including Verico the Mortgage Station, Verico Financial Group Inc., HomeEquity Bank, the South Simcoe Police Service, and Simcoe County. All they have managed throughout those 808 days is to lie and hide. The reason for that is they all know we are telling the truth, that we have the evidence to back up our claims, and that even a one-sided argument, based on defamatory libel told by David Flude's to a potential client, shows just how easy it is for people to see the truth based solely on the presentation of the facts and evidence.

That is why these multi-million and multi-billion-dollar corporations are hiding from a small, not-for-profit, social enterprise, community media service that supports any charity, not-for-profit, and benevolent group that asks.
