This 'threat' was sent by an anonymous coward who feared signing their own name.

Why is the HomeEquity Bank, an asset of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP), valued at more than $247.5B, working with loan shark mortgage brokers who prey on seniors and veterans, while draining the resources of local charities, and why are they afraid to challenge the evidence and allegations of a small not-for-profit?

Misconduct By Simcoe County Council and South Simcoe Police Drawing Attention to Our Story

It has been an interesting couple of days for Simcoe County Council and the South Simcoe Police Service as Premier Doug Ford called out Councillors for giving themselves a one-hundred-and-sixty-seven percent increase in salary, and the South Simcoe Police Service announced that a long-term veteran of the force faces discreditable conduct charges amid a sex assault allegation.

Due to Google's search technique of cross-referencing algorithms, both stories have resulted in a dramatic upswing in traffic to our related reports and videos.

About a year ago, on October 6, 2023, we posted the report and video entitled "Simcoe County Council Shows Zero F#Cks Given for Loan Sharks Defrauding Seniors". Prior to that, on August 11, 2023, we posted our story "South Simcoe Police Service Now Omitting and Falsifying Evidence to Protect Loan Sharks", followed up by another report and video entitled "South Simcoe Police Service Cook the Books to Help Rich Crooks". Despite being very open in our belief that the one-time multi-million-dollar brokers had 'motivated' those in municipal politics and local law enforcement to attain a 'get out of jail free card', nobody has contested our allegations, nor taken any legal action to silence our reporting, nor challenge our evidence. Apparently, they also wrongly assumed we would just go away.

Abuses of trust, by the county and their cops, are dramatically increasing our traffic.

Abuses of trust, by the county and their cops, are dramatically increasing our traffic.

What would make a county and their personal police service hide from a small, not-for-profit, social enterprise that donates all its services to any charity, not-for-profit, or benevolent community group that asks for help?

In his statement to the media, Premier Doug Ford stated: "Simcoe region, uh councillors, I guess they're called; I don't even know why we have the region, but here nor there," the premier began. "They vote themselves; get ready for this 167 per cent increase in salary. Wouldn't that be great if we could all just increase our salary?"

This apparent revelation came as little surprise to us, as the Councillors of Simcoe County were collectively 'motivated' to look the other way and simply ignore the loan sharks of Verico the Mortgage Station who were defrauding their senior and veteran clientele by charging the illegal usury interest rate of 198.25% on short-term bridge financing. Top brass at the South Simcoe Police Service also violated public trust when they chose to allow their detective, Jason Muto, to disregard key evidence and to use incorrect calculations to falsely report that there was 'insufficient evidence' to lay charges against the loan sharks of Verico the Mortgage Station when in truth, he had omitted that evidence without cause or explanation, and had falsified figures instead of using factual calculations. They even went so far as to completely ignore a follow up email from our Producer, an international journalist, former private investigator, and college instructor that detailed the 'errors of judgement' that were used to skew reality into a fraudulent fantasy.

347 (1) Despite any other Act of Parliament, every one who enters into an agreement or arrangement to receive interest at a criminal rate, or receives a payment or partial payment of interest at a criminal rate, is
(a) guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years; or
(b) guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction and liable to a fine of not more than $25,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than two years less a day, or to both.

When publicly disclosing that an officer of the South Simcoe Police Service was facing charges of 'discreditable conduct' following an allegation of sexual assault, South Simcoe Police Chief John Van Dyke is reported to have said, "Transparency and accountability are fundamental to maintaining public trust. We acknowledge that an officer from the South Simcoe Police Service has been charged with discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act. I want to emphasize our commitment to holding both our officers and civilians to the highest standards of professional conduct."

This facade of concern for what is right was not what was expressed by Chief Van Dyke when he was informed that a prominent and wealthy local mortgage brokerage was defrauding their senior and veteran clientele.

Chief Van Dyke's response to loan sharking seniors was one of indifference, and he even mocked and tried to belittle the victim of the indictable offence that brings with it a prison sentence of up to five years. He was, in fact, so rude and offensive in his response that our Producer, who has been acknowledged for his philanthropy and dedication to his community by the City of Barrie and the Chamber of Commerce, sent details of the communication to all members of the Mayor and Council for Innisfil. The attitude of the Chief and his senior Inspector quickly changed, turning apologetic, but it was in truth all just a shell game, in which those who can 'motivate' the minions are able to evade responsibility, even for the despicable crime of defrauding their especially vulnerable senior and veteran clientele.

The videos about the 'motivated' South Simcoe Police detectives have been viewed 45,000 and 40,000 times respectively, while our report on the County has been watched by 25,000, and they will soon be released again.

Google searches regarding these new revelations about the Simcoe County Council and the South Simcoe Police Service are drawing in new interest like moths to a lightbulb. Those visitors include mortgage professionals, banks, independent lenders, both local and non-regional politicians, mainstream media, universities, and the general public. We are sure the last thing the Simcoe County Council and the South Simcoe Police Service want right now is more fuel for the fire of public exposure. After all, Premier Doug Ford hinted at potential change when he said: "Simcoe region, uh councillors, I guess they're called; I don't even know why we have the region." If the loan sharking brokers of Verico the Mortgage Station, Verico Financial Group Inc. and HomeEquity Bank are not pariahs already, due to having dragged Simcoe County and the South Simcoe Police Service into their scheme of Lies, Manipulation, and Loan Sharking, they can be sure now that they have been added to the 'do not reply' list of every politician in Simcoe County. They also better think long and hard before trying to ever again 'motivate' officers of the South Simcoe Police Service to do their bidding.

The brokers of Verico the Mortgage Station have apparently fallen from respected and influential, to reviled and ignored, and all because of pride, arrogance, and an unqualified inflated sense of self-importance.

More than two years later, we are still here, stronger than ever, while Verico the Mortgage Station is bleeding out staff, they appear abandoned and alone, they are converting offices to apartments to generate cashflow, and they are scrambling to sell their newly built custom office building. This is their new reality because the truth is what it is, and the evidence supports our allegations. The loan sharking brokers of Verico the Mortgage Station, and their allies at Verico Financial Group Inc. and HomeEquity Bank were so full of themselves, convinced of their invulnerability and confident that they did not have to be held accountable for their individual and collective breaches of public trust and the law. In doing so, they put themselves in a position of accountability for much more than they originally faced.

341 Every one who, for a fraudulent purpose, takes, obtains, removes or conceals anything is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.

Using figures that are fully supported by our third-party visitor logs, correlated with data from industry standards, we calculate that our reporting is costing HomeEquity Bank much more than either of their fellow collaborators. As is noted in our report "Left Holding The Bag - HomeEquity Bank"

"Using the updated number of twelve drive-by visits per week, and the same 50% ratio of lost opportunities, which is conservative, the HomeEquity Bank experiences a loss of opportunity, valued at $250,000.00 in potential income over a ten-year period, every time a visitor to this story chooses to buy into another option that is not a CHIP Reverse Mortgage. That adds up to $1,500,000.00 per week, or $78,000,000.00 per year. In the case of HomeEquity Bank, the lost sales, valued at $213,693.63 per day, are not restricted to those generated by Verico the Mortgage Station. People are frequently visiting our pages looking for information about HomeEquity Bank and the CHIP Reverse Mortgage, and they are coming from every province in Canada. That will only get worse when we launch our social media campaign focused on major population centres across the country. That will be launched soon, when the weather cools consistently, and more people are spending time on social media".

Why would a multi-billion-dollar corporation, which relies on trust to secure clients, choose to lose seventy-eight million dollars a year simply to protect a small, back-country mortgage brokerage?

We have long thought there was more to this story, as the collaboration and cover-up just doesn't make sense. Recently, due to a confidential communication with a former member of management, we believe we have found at least a spot to put the prybar so we can pull back the lid on the details of why this hillbilly hustle was so important to Verico Financial Group Inc. and HomeEquity Bank that they would commit at least one indictable offence to shield the loan sharking brokers of Verico the Mortgage Station from responsibility for their criminal and ethical abuses of trust. Now, given the recent burst of traffic, caused first by the exposure of the TD Bank money laundering scandal and now by the self-serving actions of the Simcoe County Council and the announcement by the South Simcoe Police Service that a veteran officer is accused of sexual assault, it seems likely that interest from much larger bastions of investigative journalism, that have infinitely more resources, will use our research and reports as the tip of the shovel that will overturn the deeper story.

The truly sad part for these corporations is that the exposure could have been avoided, if the brokers had simply acknowledged their wrongdoing, or if the collaborators had said no to helping them conceal their crime, and if any of them had shown the courage to step up and take responsibility for their 'errors in judgement'.
