"Finding You Dead In A Ditch" - Verico The Mortgage Station
Yesterday we received a message from an unidentified man who said he was doing some research on buying a house in Simcoe County when he found our fully supported reports and videos. "I thought journalists like you were a thing of the past. Good job!!! You probably saved my family a lot of trouble and money. It takes balls to take on these lenders but what the hell is stopping the police and local council from finding you dead in a ditch? You must know some powerful people."
Our first thought was a threat, but we backtracked it to a five-year-old account based in the GTA.
That may sound paranoid, but when David Flude eventually got around to trying to intimidate us, he did so through the guise of an 'anonymous agent' who huffed, puffed, and bluffed a bunch of self-serving made up nonsense that was composed badly and without legal merit into a whining do-it-yourself 'Notice of Libel' that was not signed, and which our Producer so fully decimated in a single email that the cowardly con-artist 'anonymous agent' chose to never file the claim in any court.
Five Points Media is known favourably to many members of Simcoe County Council.
Throughout the past dozen years, we have provided our full-donated services to many charities, not-for-profits, and benevolent community groups based in Simcoe County, and we have also worked with the Nottawasaga OPP, various mayors and councillors, fire departments, and every Member of both Federal and Provincial Parliament. We have also supported local businesses during the pandemic, and also community events of various kinds. These include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate Nottawasaga - OPP and 20 other official county agencies.
- Innisfil Christmas 4 Kids.
- Angus Legion - A Charitable Donation for a Worthy Cause.
- Innisfil Sign War - Helping Local Businesses.
- Innisfil Stationary Santa Claus Parade.
- Innisfil Pride Paddle A Huge Success.
- MPP Andrea Khanjin's Innisfil Community Skate.
It was also pretty obvious that the detective of the South Simcoe Police Service did not know who our Producer was, or what he has contributed to the charities, not-for-profits, and benevolent groups of Simcoe County.
The Simcoe County Council chose not to become involved and although we were not impressed, that was likely their best move given the obvious nature of the 'motivation' that caused a detective of the South Simcoe Police Service to omit key evidence and fabricate fraudulent formulas as a way to slide a pass to the brokers at Verico the Mortgage Station regarding their transparent violation of the indictable offence of usury, or loan sharking, that brings with it upon conviction a prison sentence of up to five years. On the flip side, many of them also know about our Producer 's hard-earned reputation for seeking justice for those who cannot defend themselves against abuses of power and corruption.
Simcoe County Councillors may have turned a blind eye, but the exposure has now made them equally oblivious to any call for support from the multi-million-dollar brokers and their multi-billion-dollar allies.
As for the South Simcoe Police Service, they are now under much greater scrutiny by the public and mainstream media when it comes to any idea of once again abusing their authority or ignoring the facts in this story. They have seen the facts about how their detective was 'motivated' to omit evidence and fake formulas to help the brokers at Verico the Mortgage Station, and they cannot deny that our Producer wrote to Detective Constable Jason Muto after their meeting, through which he provided the appropriate formulas, as provided to him by a forensic accountant, yet the detective, who is sworn to public service, refused to change his predetermined judgement of the case that was based on false formulas and omitted evidence. Now, if they try taking action to silence our reporting, which is protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, they will only accomplish adding fuel to the fire as every media service in Ontario will suddenly become very interested in the story of abuse of authority.
Also, a small point maybe, but we have the right under the Charter to tell the truth of this story, and any attempt to curtail that authority will result in a very public and extremely expensive lawsuit.
Not one County Councillor, some of whom are social media friends of our Producer , has reached out to ask about our reporting on this story. Likewise, no representative of the South Simcoe Police Service has asked to meet, or even to chat on the phone about our reporting and public allegations. All of these facts clearly debunk the unsubstantiated allegations made by David Flude who claimed in a most unprofessional manner to a prospective client that our philanthropic Producer, was a 'serial agitator' who he falsely and without evidence accused of suing neighbours, politicians, and others. Fortunately, his breach of trust resulted in the potential new client who sought a mortgage of $800,000.00, responding negatively and taking her business and a commission of about $8,000.00 to another broker after calling out the repetitive liar and supporting the truth of our reports and videos. You can see the entire email here.
At that point, David Flude had hidden from that same client for more than 18 months after lying six times in two emails (Email 1) (Email 2) to evade investigation by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). David Flude, the Principal Broker of a provincially licensed financial service that is required to show ethics, chose to take the path of saying whatever he wanted about a client who had exposed his abuses of trust and the crimes of his brokerage by exercising his right as a Journalist to Freedom of Expression. It is also a fact that the content and evidence of our allegations have never been contested in any way by David Flude, Renee Dadswell, and Lisa Purchase, the brokers at Verico the Mortgage Station, or their allies W. Mark Squire, President and Chief Operating Officer, Verico Financial Group Inc. and Yvonne Ziomecki-Fisher, Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales of HomeEquity Bank.
Anybody who takes to time to review the facts sees the truth, which is happening every day.
Are we protected? Do we have friends in influential places? The answer to both is yes. However, we believe in our system of justice and our rights under the Charter or Rights and Freedoms, which our Producer has defended as a veteran. He has also seen as an international journalist how in other countries the citizens and media do not enjoy similar protections. We are relying much more on the very public manner in which we are telling this story, and the number of people who now know the truth who did not have that knowledge a few weeks or months ago. Our system of justice in Canada is a serious matter, and the protection of journalists is a very high concern to many.
It seems likely it is the checks and balances of our system of justice that are stopping anybody from
"finding you dead in a ditch".
